The NFC North-leading Minnesota Vikings will be vying for a fifth straight win when they visit the Washington Redskins on Sunday as narrow 1.5-point favourites on the NFL Week 10 odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Minnesota enjoyed a bye in Week 9 after routing the winless Cleveland Browns 33-16 as 11-point favourites two weeks ago, lifting its record on the season to 6-2 going into Sunday afternoon’s Vikings versus Redskins betting matchup at FedExField.
The Vikings have built their success on a stingy defence that has surrendered just 16.9 points per game this season, third best in the NFL. Vikings Nation has also been abuzz this week about the highly anticipated return of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who is set to rejoin the team after missing all of last season to injury.
Backup Case Keenum has effectively led the Vikings offence while both Bridgewater and Sam Bradford have nursed injuries. Keenum has tossed four total touchdown passes during the Vikings’ current win streak, and is expected to get the start in Washington on Sunday.
Washington is coming off a 17-14 win in Seattle as an 8-point underdog, ending a two-game SU and against the spread slide. The 4-4 Redskins remain in post-season contention, but are a middling 2-3 SU and ATS in their past five games as home underdogs.
Elsewhere, the New Orleans Saints look to extend their lead atop the NFC South as they visit the Buffalo Bills as 2.5-point favourites, while the surprising Los Angeles Rams attempt to win four in a row for the first time since 2003 as they host the beleaguered Houston Texans as heavy 11.5-point favourites.
The Saints flexed their offensive muscle in last week’s 30-10 win over Tampa Bay as 7-point home favourites, and have surrendered just 10 points per game in their past three road dates, but face a Bills squad that has tallied 27.75 points per game while going 4-0 SU in four home games this season.
The Rams’ NFL-leading offence kicked into high gear in last week’s 51-17 rout of the New York Giants as 6-point road chalk. Los Angeles also posted a 33-0 win over Arizona as 3-point favourites in its last home date, and faces a Texans squad reeling from the loss of Deshaun Watson and last week’s 20-14 defeat to Indianapolis as 6-point home chalk.
