There is bad news for the Red Devils in the Daily Mail with the paper reporting that Barcelona have “agreed a deal in principle” to sign Atletico Madrid frontman Antoine Griezmann.
Atletico Madrid want Mesut Ozil to replace Man Utd-bound Saul Niguez Lionel Messi will be offered £500,000-a-week to stay at Barcelona
Citing reports in the French press, the newspaper claims that the Catalan giants are in the driving seat to land the 26-year-old Gallic goalscorer next summer, despite the repeated stories earlier in the year stating that his preferred destination was Old Trafford.
Griezmann, who signed a new deal with Atletico in the summer, has a release clause in his contract reported to be in the region of £170million but that presents no obstacle to either United or Barcelona, both of whom have been monitoring him this season.
So far this term, Griezmann has struggled to hit top form with just three goals for the La Liga outfit, amid reports he is a “frustrated figure” at Atletico.
