FREMONT — A 77-year-old woman suffered some type of medical event while driving and was in critical but stable condition at a hospital Tuesday after crashing into a parked car, police said.

The crash happened around 3:17 p.m. Monday in the area of Starr Court and Via Puebla.

According to police, the woman drove a Jaguar sedan east on Via Puebla when the car drifted left and parked head-on into the parked Honda Pilot. The crash was so forceful that the Pilot then ran into an unoccupied Volvo that also was parked, police said.

Nobody was in the parked car.

Officers found the woman unresponsive, and an ambulance rushed her to a hospital. Doctors believe she had the emergency while driving, and police suspect it may have caused the crash.
