Ever the savvy marketer of her own brand and of her Goop lifestyle empire, Gwyneth Paltrow took some time out to thank people for her big, star-studded party Saturday night, which may or may not have been an occasion for her to exchange vows with Brad Falchuk.

Mega-producer Ryan Murphy, who co-created “Glee” and “American Horror Story” with Falchuk, threw the black-tie party at the Los Angeles Theatre, and it seemed as though many of Hollywood’s A-list turned up: Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Demi Moore and Kate Hudson.

The “black-tie” part of the invitation left some guessing that Paltrow and Falchuk weren’t just having an engagement party but that the Oscar winner and her significant other were going to exchange vows Saturday night.

Paltrow didn’t clear up that mystery when she took to Instagram Monday to gush about the engagement-or-wedding party. She didn’t refer to Saturday night as an “engagement” party. She referred to the event in an open-ended way as an “incredible evening to celebrate our (love).”

But by being mysterious, Paltrow will no doubt keep Goop fans coming back for more. And in other ways, Paltrow couldn’t let slip an opportunity to turn her private celebration of her love into a public event with potential commercial value.

Yes, she thanked Murphy, her friend and Falchuk’s colleague, for throwing the party. She also expressed gratitude for all their “amazing true and dear friends who came to support us.” She even put in a word for her fiancé-or-husband Falchuk for bringing her “true happiness.”

But amid all this gushing for friends and for Falchuk, the actress/CEO slipped in some endorsements for the designer who made her one-shoulder Burgundy gown and for the people who did her hair, makeup and overall styling.

“@giambattistavalliparis I will never get over my gorgeous dress,” she said referring to Italian designer Giambattista Valli.” She also thanked make up artist Georgie Eisdell, her stylist Elizabeth Salesman and her celebrity hair stylist Lorenzo Martin (who posted photos of Paltrow on his own Instagram account).

Given these endorsements, it’s fair to wonder whether Paltrow received these pros’ services for a discount or for free.

If that’s the case, Paltrow would just be the latest, rich celebrity to turn a private event into an opportunity to get free stuff and maybe earn some extra cash.
