A Longmont man accused of downloading child pornography was sentenced to two years of jail work-release and five years in the state Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Program on Friday.

Edward Terrance Snyder, 64, was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child — video.

Police discovered that Snyder had downloaded more than 12,000 pornographic photos of female infants and young girls after receiving a tip from the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children task force. According to an arrest affidavit, the task force told police on Sept. 1 about an image of child pornogrpahy that was uploaded to a phone number that was ultimately tracked to Snyder.

Police confronted Snyder on Jan. 5 at his home on Mountain View Avenue in Longmont and conducted a search warrant on his cell phones and his 18-wheeler truck. In addition to the images, police found 233 different pornographic websites in Snyder’s web history visited from May through July 2015.
