The unidentified man was hit near the Bound Brook station around 9 p.m. and service was suspended as of 11 p.m.

A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Thursday night in Bound Brook, officials said.

The man, identified only as a “male trespasser,” was hit around 9 p.m. near the Bound Brook station by a Raritan Valley Line train headed east from Raritan to Newark-Penn Station, NJ Transit Spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said.

Torbic said she could not release any other details on Thursday night.

Raritan Valley Line service was still suspended between Dunellen and Bound Brook as of 11 p.m.

The incident was being investigated by the NJ Transit Police.
