At the Billboard Music Awards

The 2019 iHeartRadio Awards were held in Los Angeles Thursday night, and it’s not surprising that Taylor Swift stole the show.

What is surprising is that she was able to do so without singing a note.

Right off the bat, Taylor managed to capture the audience’s attention simply by showing up.

The 29-year-old has reached the point in her career at which the constant attention of media outlets and tens of millions of obsessive fans seems to be wearing thin.

As a result, these days, she skips a lot of awards shows, particularly second- or third-tier ones like the iHeartRadio Awards.

Taylor stole the spotlight a second time when she took the stage to accept the award for Tour of the Year, one of two trophies she took home last night.

It’s nice that she’s so grateful to her fans and so defiant in the face of criticism, but Taylor complaining that she’d been counted out is a bit like Tom Brady and Bill Belichick playing the underdog card.

No musician has been as dominant over the past decade as Taylor, and any tour of hers is a guaranteed money-maker.

Swift went on to affirm that she tours not for herself, but for the Swifties:

“So, I honestly owe everything in my life to …read more
