Des Moines’ famous heavy metal band Slipknot just released a single from their long-anticipated sixth album and it includes nods to popular local landmarks.

Slipknot, one of the world’s most famous heavy metal bands, announced the details for their sixth album, “We Are Not Your Kind,” which will be released Aug. 9, just a day before their sold-out Iowa State Fair Grandstand show.

The video for “Unsainted,” the band’s new single from the album, was released Thursday on Slipknot’s YouTube channel and shows “a glimpse at the future,” for the group, according to a news release.

Around 1:46 features chairs shows seating from the Iowa State Fair Grandstand, while 1:56 shows an upside down Iowa Capitol golden dome.

It’s not the band’s first shout out back to Iowa. The “Dead Memories” music video features the state’s Capitol building and the video for “Duality” was shot in a West Des Moines home.

Fans who can’t wait to see Slipknot’s homecoming return to Iowa this summer can watch them perform as musical guests on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Friday at 10:35 p.m.

The impending album follows 2014’s “.5: The Gray Chapter,” the band’s first release since the death of bassist Paul Gray. “The Gray Chapter” debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 sales chart and earned Slipknot three Grammy Award nominations.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor spoke with the Register earlier this year about the new album and anticipated homecoming.

On playing the fair, he said: “The fact that it’s damn near sold out and we’ve still got six months before it even happens? That, to me, is such the testament of the work we’ve put in with this band. To the legacy that we’re tried to carry with us and the fact that we’ve carried the Iowa culture with us for this long.”
