Tuesday Night’s Alright (For Banner Raising). Go hit the Yellow Brick Road, Elton.

As previously reported, the Raptors will play host to the Pelicans in the first game of the NBA season, receiving their rings and raising their championship banner on Oct. 22. The first of two shows on Elton John’s farewell tour was scheduled for that night. (It was not immediately clear when that concert will be rescheduled, but neither the Raptors nor the Maple Leafs are home on Oct. 20 or Oct. 23, both off days for the tour.)

The Raptors’ opener will be nationally televised in the United States on TNT. In addition to the ceremonial nature of the game, it will also be rookie Zion Williamson’s debut, barring injury.
