Regarded as one of the most popular faces on Indian television, Hina Khan is set to make a splash in Bollywood as well. Her debut film Lines was screened at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival. The gorgeous actress has also shot for her second film Wish List and will soon collaborate with eminent filmmaker Vikram Bhatt for her third film reportedly titled Hacked.
Meanwhile, Hina Khan is presently in New York where she hoisted the India flag at a special event for the 73rd Independence Day. The actress took to her Instagram and shared several photos and videos from the event. Talking to an Indian daily, she said that the experience of hoisting the India flag blew her away.
“Honestly, I was blown away. A lot of good things are happening whether it is this honour or the fact that I walked the Cannes red carpet. I am going to represent my country at the 73rd Independence Day celebration in New York. So, it feels great,” said the actress who became a household name after the incredible success of Star Plus’ long-running soap opera Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
When asked if her identity as a TV actress is waning, she responded in affirmation. “It is. Now, we are known for our talent. In my opinion, nothing is bigger than talent. We should start appreciating people with talent and not associate them with any stream like a television actor or a Bollywood actor. I really think today talent is taking you places. Whether it is OTT platform or anything else, people are getting their due credit and recognition for their work. If you are talented, you will go places. No one can stop you. Trust me on that,” signed off the actress.
