Host Terry Crews announced that there was a technical issue in Tuesday night’s voting, so tonight, there would be no Judges Save in order to confirm that America’s voice is heard. The top six acts would proceed as usual, and the Dunkin Save would include the artists in seventh, eighth and ninth place.
Those acts in danger of leaving the competition were Ansley Burns, Emerald Belles and Sophie Pecora.
“Nuts,” Simon Cowell said when asked what he thinks of the three acts in danger.
Then it was time for an entertainment break with season one winner Bianca Ryan, season 13 violinist Brian King Joseph, and season 11 contortionist aerialist Sofie Dossi combining their talents for a special performance. It was announced that fans of Bianca can get her new single available today.
When we returned, Terry began to reveal who was going through. The first act to make it into the semifinals was Alex Dowis.
“For you to move on says a lot about the nature and the impact of your blessing,” Gabrielle Union told him. “Let’s see what you’ve got for the next round.”
The next act announced going into the semifinals was Luke Islam.
“I feel so amazing,” Luke told Terry. “I am, so grateful for this opportunity.”
“Proud is the perfect word,” Julianne Hough said when she heard her Golden Buzzer pick made it through. “Thanks for showing up and delivering, not just tonight, but I see a long career ahead of you.”
Before any more semifinalists were named, America’s Got Talent: Champions winner Shin Lin performed his unique brand of magic with former guest judge Jay Leno.
