We may not have flying cars or teleporting devices, but the ability to control everything from the lights in your bedroom to the temperature of your refrigerator using nothing more than your voice confirms that we are living in a pretty futuristic world.

But before you can control the lights (or the fridge) you need to connect those smart light bulbs to Alexa on your Amazon Echo.

Before you do that, you need to screw in said lightbulbs (which may require assistance from a variety of comical characters) and turn the socket on, and then connect the bulb to the same Wi-Fi network as Alexa uses.

Follow the steps that come with the bulb to do that. Note that some smart bulbs may require slightly different setup procedures than laid out here, but the processes should be similar enough for easy navigation.
