Alberta’s controversial war room will be ramping back up its pro-oil sands advertising soon, Premier Jason Kenney said in a question and answer session during the UCP, annual general meeting Saturday.
Kenney said the Canadian Energy Centre, also known as the energy war room, has been continuing its research over the past several months. It’s annual $30 million budget was
temporarily cut by 90 per cent
in March for three months or until normal operations could continue. The premier did not specify if funding would be restored.
“I do expect that in the weeks and months to come, the CEC will go back to plan A, which was to launch a number of large advertising campaigns that explain … the importance of oil and gas to Canadian jobs and prosperity,” said Kenney.
