Djeswende Reid, 66, and Stephen Reid, 67, had been shot multiple times, according to Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Mitchell Weinberg. Both deaths were ruled homicides.
They had left their apartment last Monday afternoon, April 18, to go for a walk at Broken Ground Trails, about a half-mile away, the New Hampshire attorney general’s office said.
Nobody saw them after that, and when Stephen missed a planned event Wednesday, a relative called the police.
On Thursday evening, their bodies were found in a wooded area close to the 1½-mile Marsh Loop Trail.
Police said they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public, but urged residents to “be vigilant and take normal precautions as they go about their daily lives.”
