(CNN) — The woman suspected of fatally shooting elite cyclist Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson in Texas was seen at Newark Liberty International Airport a week after the killing, but nobody flew out of that airport under her name,  according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, is wanted in connection with Wilson’s killing May 11 in Austin.

Wilson, 25, had traveled to Austin from San Francisco for a cycling race and had spent the hours before her death with Armstrong’s boyfriend, Colin Strickland, also a top-ranked cyclist.  The two went swimming and had dinner. Shortly after Strickland dropped her off, she was shot at the apartment where she was staying.

Strickland told police he and Wilson had dated while he was briefly separated from Armstrong last year, and that the two had remained in contact.

Armstrong was questioned the day after the murder. Police had a warrant for her arrest in an unrelated misdemeanor offense in 2018,  but because there was a discrepancy in her birthdate on the paperwork, she was allowed to walk out of the interview.

Around 12:30 p.m. on May 14, surveillance video showed a person believed to be Armstrong at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. She boarded a flight to Houston Hobby Airport, then went on to LaGuardia Airport in New York.

On May 18, she was at the Newark airport, the marshals said.

The previous day, a homicide warrant had been issued for her, and on May 25, authorities obtained a federal warrant for “unlawful flight to avoid prosecution,” the U.S. Marshals said. The agency has upgraded the search for Armstrong to “major case status” and is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to her arrest, it said in a news release Monday.

The 2018 warrant said that Armstrong failed to pay a spa for a $650 botox treatment. She allegedly drove away after telling an employee that she was going to her car to get a different credit card.
