March Madness 2023 begins on March 14 with the men’s First Four competing in Dayton, Ohio, on TruTV.
The brackets for March Madness will be announced March 12, Selection Sunday, on CBS and ESPN.
CBS, TNT, TBS, and TruTV will air the men’s tournament; the women’s tournament is on ESPN networks.

March Madness, the annual NCAA tournament for men’s and women’s basketball, will begin on March 14 and continue through April 3 to decide this year’s national champions. Both tournaments will feature 68 collegiate teams with a single game, single elimination format.

The March Madness tournament brackets will be revealed on March 12, Selection Sunday, during two live shows. The men’s bracket will be announced on CBS with coverage starting at 6 p.m. ET, while the women’s bracket will be revealed at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.

South Carolina won the women’s tournament last year and currently sits atop the AP rankings with an undefeated record. Defending men’s champion Kansas is currently ranked third, behind #2 UCLA and #1 Houston.

March Madness begins with the First Four, pitting the bottom seeded teams in the men’s and women’s tournaments against each other to earn the 16th seed in the larger bracket. The men’s first four games will be played on March 14 and 15 on TruTV, while the women’s first four will be played on March 15 and 16 on ESPNU and ESPN2.
