MEMPHIS — Jonathan Kuminga went down with an ankle injury during pregame warmups and won’t play Thursday night in Memphis.

Kuminga rolled his right ankle on a drive to the basket about two hours before tip-off and was seen limping off the floor.

Moments later, coach Steve Kerr confirmed the bad news that Kuminga wouldn’t play in the Western Conference semifinals rematch.

The injury comes two days after Kuminga rolled his left ankle in the first quarter of Tuesday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kuminga temporarily left the game and was evaluated by a team trainer, but he later returned and had his second-highest scoring night of this season.

Kuminga, who started at power forward against the Thunder, went 8 of 11 from the field and made all four of his free throws for 21 points. He also contributed three rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes.

With Kuminga out of commission Thursday, Kerr decided to deploy his small-ball lineup against the Grizzlies featuring Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole, Donte DiVincenzo, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

It’s also worth noting that Kevon Looney (back soreness) and Andre Iguodala (right hip soreness) are expected to be available off the bench after they were listed as probable heading into Thursday’s game.
