A longtime LoDo staple will soon be closing its doors less than a month after celebrating 20 years in operation.
Blake Street Tavern, a popular sports bar and go-to spot for Colorado Rockies’ opening day, is set to close after one last day of business on April 9, General Manager Shelley Majeres said in an email Saturday.
“We are saddened by this turn of events and gladdened by the support of our many regulars and friends,” Majeres, manager of the tavern for 17 years, said. “It is truly the end of an era for many of us who have formed lifelong friendships here. My joy is to serve good people, good food, and I got to do that here for 17 of BST’s 20 years.”
Blake Street Tavern had a tumultuous few years through the COVID-19 pandemic, closing temporarily in 2021 due to indoor dining restrictions and losing out on several Rockies’ opening days, usually their busiest time of year.
