A front-page story on Thursday, March 9, about snow impacting operations at Lick Observatory on Mount Hamilton incorrectly reported that “Asteroid 2650 Elinor” was discovered by Lick Observatory resident astronomer Elinor Gates. The asteroid was named for Gates, but discovered in 1931 by M. Wolf.
